Born and raised in Naples, Florida, Tony has been around swamp buggy racing all his life.  Many years were spent working on different racing buggies until Tony finally began his reign behind the wheel of the "Old Duck".

The "Old Duck" was originally built in 1981, as the "Cold Duck", by Ray Thornton.  During it's time as the "Cold Duck", this buggy and Ray accumulated numerous wins!

Ownership changed hands in 1996 when the owner became Tony Hamm.  To retain some nostalgia of the buggy, the "C" was dropped from the name and the "Old Duck" was born.  On his first attempt to qualify the "Old Duck" in October, 1996, the buggy had engine failure and Tony had to "sit-out" the entire race.  The next race, in March 1997, was a whole different story.  Tony and the "Old Duck" did qualify and went on to win the Little Feature!  The good news doesn't end there.  Tony and the "Old Duck" took 3rd place for the 1998 Budweiser Cup Points Championship and are the winners of the 1999 Coca-Cola Points Championship.
